Public quests are open to everyone who meets their eligibility requirements. If you want to try one of these quests out, all you need to do is either open an organization thread for it in these forums or, if you want to play solo, start an RP thread in the appropriate New Logoran location to house your quest, as described in the IRP quest rules.

The selection of quests here will rotate periodically, so if you don't see anything interesting here now, try checking back later... or engineer your dream quest with the quest creation rules rules!

Tutorial Mode

Rating: Easy
Number of Players: Any
Requirements: None
Rewards: Premier Ball x3
Objective: Help Mason catch his first pokémon
Location: Route 609

The proprietor of the Dia Department Store has decided it's high time for her son, Mason, to go out and catch his first pokémon. Unfortunately, running one of the largest department stores in New Logora keeps her terrifically busy, and she hasn't had the chance to take the boy out searching herself. She's looking for a patient, competent trainer to take Mason out into the wild to find a pokémon--and help him catch it, of course! If you help her out, she'll provide you with all the pokéballs you'll need for your excursion and even give you some of her special stock, not available for normal purchase, if your trip is successful.

Mason's a pretty quick study, but he's a bit on the clumsy side and doesn't know a ton about how pokéballs work, for all the fact that his mother moves thousands of them a week in her business. He's going to need a little hand-holding to get through the basics--how to scare up a pokémon, weakening before capture, etc.--but thankfully he doesn't have his heart set on an eevee or anything. Head out to Route 609, help him find a nice mareep or something, and make with the capturing; as long as Mason brings something back, and he actually caught it himself, his mom'll be happy.

Dinobot Soccer

Rating: Easy
Number of Players: Any
Requirements: None
Rewards: Fresh Water x2
Objective: Use your pokémon to participate in a game of soccer against Nick DiCadria and his dartizel-R
Location: Versorecto City

Ordinarily Nick helps his mom collect data on the behavior of restoration-series pokémon through battles at the Versorecto City Gym. While this has certainly helped advance scientific understanding of how these ancient pokémon performed in battle, it is a less than ideal method of finding out how they behaved in less combative situations, such as when caring for their young, searching for food, or... participating in a friendly game of soccer. It's obvious which one of those questions most desperately needs an answer, and Nick's determined to be the researcher to discover it, which is why he's looking for trainers eager to test their pokémon against his dartizel-R in a soccer match. He's temporarily refitted the Versorecto City Gym with a couple of goalposts and the appropriate markings for a soccer pitch, and he's got its native recording equipment set up to capture all the data he needs from his totally-legitimate science experiment (his mom's out of town at a conference--why do you ask?).

All you need to do is show up with your pokémon and be ready to play some soccer! The more the merrier; Nick's pretty sure that Dartizel-R can take on any number of opponents because it's totally fast and obviously the coolest, so he doesn't mind taking on multiple trainers at once.

Unfortunately Nick can't offer you a gym badge for helping him with his super-important scientific research (his mom would kill him), but in addition to his gratitude, he'll be happy to give you and your pokémon something to cool off with after the match.

A Cry for Help

Rating: Medium
Number of Players: Any
Requirements: None
Rewards: 750P and a type gem of your choice
Objective: Apprehend the person who vandalized Dr. Richbux's beach house on Route 615
Location: Versorecto City

Just last week, when I arrived at my summer home with the intent of enjoying a pleasant vacation, I found that some hooligan had smashed in a front window and stolen a valuable family heirloom. The police have been extremely unhelpful, and I'm beginning to despair of ever seeing the culprit brought to justice. I'm seeking intrepid trainers to investigate the incident and do what the police won't: track down who's responsible and turn them over to the proper authorities. I have reason to suspect that the person responsible hasn't left the area of Versorecto City, so you shouldn't have to go far out of your way to find them.

As for what methods you ought to use in your pursuit of the vandal, I invite you to use your own judgement. I'm certainly not suggesting that you do anything illegal but, well, results are what I'm interested in here. One way or another, I doubt your target will be interested in coming quietly, so it would be wise to come prepared for battle.

Please enquire at my home if interested, and while we can negotiate specific rewards once the job is done, rest assured that you will be very well-compensated for your time.

The Very Scary Berry Bugs

Rating: Medium
Number of Players: 2+
Requirements: None
Rewards: Your choice of any three one-badge or lower berries from the Open-Air Market
Objective: Harvest berries from a field infested with mandicore
Location: Denath Village

Most berry-growers around Denath use organic farming practices, which helps preserve the natural splendor of the wilds around the village but presents its own special challenges. For example, when you can't just go spraying repel everywhere it can be somewhat difficult to drive off a group of vicious mandicore that decide your lush berry field would be the perfect place to make their home. Such is the plight of Farmer Jacobson, who's looking for a couple of brave and able-bodied trainers to help him bring in this year's berry harvest.

It's a job that requires two people: one to distract the mandicore, and the other to sneak around picking berries while the first person is running for their lives. Additional hands are always welcome, of course; if nothing else, dividing the mandicore's attention between more than one target can only be a good thing.

One way or another, it's up to you and at least one other friend to come up with a way to get at the berries without getting skewered. As thanks for your help, Farmer Jacobson will be happy to let you keep a couple of the berries you manage to get: definitely worth it for an afternoon cheating death!

Mary Had a Little Sheep

Rating: Medium
Number of Players: Any
Requirements: Must have at least one Pokémon in your party at level 10 or higher.
Rewards: Mareep (Level 5; OT: Mary Freeman)
Objective: Mary Fairchild has been losing precious Mareep from her stables, and her fleece partnership with Versorecto Department Store is on the line. She needs to retrieve her lost sheep, and quick!
Location: Route 608

A long time ago, somewhere far away, Mary Freeman was simply a farmer girl, and one who raised livestock such as lamb before moving to New Logora. Now she herds Mareep, collecting the fleece, discharging it, and making clothing out of it for a living. She's had quite the number of big-name companies contacting her lately and trying to buy her material from her, especially since it is coming to be known as the softest fleece in all of New Logora.

She's been thinking about partnering with the Versorecto Department store since they have made clearly made a better offer than the rivaling Dia Department Store. Or at least she would partner with Versorecto if not for the sudden disappearance of Mareep from her stables recently. If she can't supply a certain amount of product, then the deal is off. And unless she can find the Mareep, no one will want to partner with her and she'll have to go back to making and selling the clothing herself.

Word has it that a couple of troublesome Lamlie and Lobovo have been spotted in the area. Perhaps investigating them might be the best place to start in finding the missing Mareep, six in total if Mary isn't mistaken. If you see happen to see her ad posted around New Logora and agree to help her find the missing pack of Mareep, then she would be more than willing to let you keep one for yourself, free of charge!

The Farewell Tour

Rating: Hard
Number of Players: Any
Requirements: Must have successfully completed "The Very Scary Berry Bugs" quest
Rewards: 1000P, Hover Ball x2, Stick, Metronome,
Objective: Convince a rapscalion and lyrissimo to come out of retirement and play one final show together
Location: Acoatyl Tower

Farmer Jacobson was so impressesd by your ability to harvest berries despite the threat of dismemberment that he's been bragging about your exploits to anyone willing to listen to his gripping tales of fruit harvesting. For the most part they fell on deaf or vaguely annoyed ears, but upon hearing his story, Satasha Bergman realized that the heroes of his tale were exactly the kind of people she needed.

Satasha was the manager for New Logora's most popular poké-pop duo in history, the Bad Eggs, which was made up of a rapscalion, "Roger," and lyrissimo, "Lyra." They took the region by storm around fifteen years ago, smashing the charts again and again with their driving beats and soaring vocals. Then it all went sour: after a furious argument, the two split up, vowing never to make music together again, and returned to the wild to live out their lives well away from the spotlight. And ever since that day, Satasha's been dreaming of one final concert, one final farewell concert, to give New Logora the closure it deserves, end the band's run on a glorious high note, and wrack up hundreds of thousands of Poké in ticket sales.

Standing in the way of that is the small problem that no human's heard from either Roger or Lyra since that fateful night, and what rumors there are suggest that finding them is going to be every bit as treacherous as it is difficult. Word on the street is they've both holed up in Acoatyl Tower, studiously avoiding one another and cultivating new followings among the Tower's other pokémon. Unfortunately, if you intend to go looking for them there you're probably going to be spending at least some of your time evading Revivalists; they take a dim view of people clomping around their historical sites. That's aside from the matter of the other wild pokémon and the usual dangers of wandering around in an ancient and poorly-restored building. Flying pokémon may not care if a floor's gone out here or there, but most humans find it a bit of a sticking point, after all. Even if you manage to track Roger and Lyra down, you'll still have to come up with a way to convince them to play together again. It's a tall order, but you held your own against a band of bloated, bloodthirsty beetles, didn't you? Surely a couple of stubborn featherbrains won't be any trouble...

If you manage to convince Roger and Lyra to get back together and play a final set, you can bet Satasha'll be eternally grateful--and maybe you'll manage to score some souvenirs from the band members, too!

A Simple Delivery

Rating: Hard
Number of Players: 1
Requirements: One badge
Rewards: Hyper potion x2 and your choice of type-boosting held item (blackglasses, sharp beak, etc.)
Objective: Deliver a package to a trainer in the Jarovesu Badlands
Location: Jarovesu Badlands

Wanted: one discreet, competent trainer to oversee the delivery of a package to Marty Schriver, a resident of a scientific research station in the Jarovesu Badlands. Unfortunately, our previous courier has become permanently inconvenienced, and we are currently in search of a suitable replacement.

We stress that only confident and experienced trainers need apply. In addition to braving the hostile environment and wild pokémon, past couriers have frequently come under attack by roaming bands of thieves who prey on badlands travelers. You should therefore expect battles with other trainers as well as the environment on your journey and make the appropriate preparations. In addition, the research outpost Marty works at is notoriously difficult to reach on foot; if you're not terribly good at climbing, you may be forced to innovate in order to reach the final destination.

We leave the precise details of how to get the package to its recipient up to you. Payment will be provided upon confirmation that the parcel has been received intact and untampered-with. Please understand that the details of this job are strictly confidential, and that any breach of trust in this area will lead to immediate termination of our professional relationship... and perhaps other things as well.

If interested, please write your license number at the bottom of this notice. You will receive an e-mail with the post office box number and keycode that you will use to retrieve the package in Versorecto City and the coordinates to which you should deliver it.

Mary Had a Little Lamlie?

Rating: Hard
Number of Players: Any
Requirements: Must have successfully completed "Mary Had a Little Sheep" quest; One Badge
Rewards: Lamlie (Level 5) and 1000P
Objective: Mary needs help... again. This time, she has a Lamlie stranded and far from home, and she needs your help to return the Pokémon to its pack.
Location: Route 608

After having helped Mary retrieve her Mareep on that fateful day, she's had you on her contact list, prepared to ask for your help again should she ever need it. As you might have guessed, that time has come now!

Since the attacks on her livestock, Mary's farm has been growing exponentially. A bigger pen, more Mareep and even Flaaffy for higher grade fleece, on top of top notch Feucrota security for her business and several new farmhands. The attacks from the Lamlie and Lobovo have been sufficiently countered and overall have decreased in number. However, in one of the recent attacks from the wild Pokémon, a Lamlie was left behind near the Mareep pen, injured and alone. Mary was able to nurse the poor thing back to health, but she's not sure if she's up to the task of taking the Pokémon back to its pack. Precisely the reason why she needs your help.

Farmhand Sal claims to have seen the ending of the raid. He recalled seeing the defeated wolves in sheep clothing slowly retreating to the Fulgorok mountains, a curious situation since they usually didn't reside in such cold places. Possibly due to the fact that the hunting grounds in Route 608 aren't working out well as of lately. If you are to help the Lamlie, still exhausted from its recovery, return home, a trek to the frosted mountains is necessary. Ample protection is required, considering the group of wild wolf Pokémon might not initially be happy when they see one of their own with a stranger. A misunderstanding can be quite troublesome if it occurs, so you'll need to be sure that you handle the situation with caution and delicacy.

Successfully returning the Lamlie to its home, the pack of Pokémon take a liking to you, and another young Lamlie eagerly follows you, clearly interested in travelling with you and getting out of the cold mountains. Mary also offers a bit of a cash reward for the trouble when you return from the journey.

A Haunting Predicament

Rating: Choice of Easy, Medium, or Hard
Number of Players: 4 or Less
Requirements: None
Rewards: ???
Objective: Identify the source of the strange occurences at the Aucaman Estate, and put an end to them.
Location: Allogra City

There's something strange at play at the Aucaman Estate.  It began with some electrical issues— a flicker of the lights, perhaps, or an unusually frigid draft from the air conditioning unit.  As time progressed, the problems grew bigger and stranger.  Objects were misplaced, found in the most unusual places imaginable.  Things crashed about loudly in the night, but no sign could be found of any home intruder.  The house would regularly fluctuate several dozen degrees in a matter of minutes.  Electronics went haywire, shooting sparks and spelling out rude words on their analog clocks.
It was not long before Mr Aucaman had had enough.  But, as generously-paid professional after generously-paid professional returned with their hands empty, he grew increasingly frustrated.  It has been weeks since the trouble began, and the wealthy man is at his wits' end.  In a last ditch attempt to salvage his house before he either sells it off or loses his mind, he has opened the estate for a single night to any and every trainer willing to poke around and maybe, maybe rid him of the most unusual circumstances that plague him.  If you at least stay in the house for a night, he'll offer you a small gift for your time [EASY]. He promises a handsome reward to any trainer who can diagnose his peculiar malady [MEDIUM], and an even larger one to the group that manages to cure it [HARD].
