Chapter Ten: Second Confrontation
Equally annoyed with his Trainer, the March Hare pokemon simply opened his mouth and let out some very poorly pitched notes. Supposedly, another pokemon could pick up where he'd left off and make the attack stronger, but it was highly unlikely with those skills. In any case, Lobovo couldn't stand the noise at all and dug herself a hole completely underground to wait out that horrible cacophony. Fairlie, though, gave some of her own screeching and said that Jackravage better attack with the move she tells him to next time. The normal and fighting type just looked the other way with his ears pressed close to his head and his arms crossed.

Fairlie continued to yell and Jackravage decided to shut her up by venting out his anger in the area he'd last see the ground type. Maybe it would force her back up. Unfortunately for the gym Leader, all Jackravage managed to do was expend his pent-up energy. It was then that the Deceiver pokemon decided to launch herself out, knocking her opponent back with a solid hit.

Jackravage used Round! (-34 HP)
Lobovo used Dig! Lobovo hid underground.
Jackravage used Frustration! It missed. . .
Lobovo attacked with Dig! (-25 HP)

Fairlie didn’t like this at all. Not only had the March Hare pokemon already used up his energy with the Frustration attack, but he was getting worn down and slower. Fairlie considered going defensive, but perhaps there could be one more attack to see where they were? Or perhaps a Pounce would work well?

“Okay. Jackravage, fine. If you want to be like that, go ahead. But use Pounce now.” Fairlie called out. But then as a small, quiet afterthought: “Uhh.. please?” Jackravage shook his head again, and kept his back to the gym Leader. “Oh, come on, Jackravage. You always win the battle for me. Don’t you want to win?”

Jackravage gave an eye-roll, but only Lobovo saw it -- and she was preparing to Bulldoze her way to a destroyed arena. The normal and fighting type noticed this, and decided to do just a quick tap on his opponent; maybe that would appease his Trainer enough.

Jackravage used Pound! (-31 HP)
Lobovo used Bulldoze! (-16 HP)
Jackravage’s Speed was lowered.

"Fine! Go with Pound all you want, then Jackravage!" Fairlie yelled. "It'll be on you, not me, if we lose this match!" Jackravage only rolled his eyes again, leaping forward to give Selenia's Lobovo another tap. But the pink-furred creature wasn't there! The March Hare pokemon searched the partially destroyed arena angrily until he found another hole. Ah-ha! The ground type had buried herself again. Jackravage eagerly waited at the lip of the new hole, watching for when his opponent would come back out -- so he never even saw the attack before it hit him!

"Gah! You're too slow now, Jackravage! Do something about it, why don't you?" Of course, Fairlie was still screeching. Getting up from the ground, the normal and fighting type just grumbled to himself, giving Lobovo a glare from where she sat after her sneak attack.
