RPG Moderator Application
Good evening fellow member!

Have you ever wanted more out of your experience at Pokémon Turquoise? Have you ever been interested in overall being a part of the progression of the incredible stories told here? Look no further, as that opportunity is staring you right in the face: the opportunity to become an RPG Moderator. As an RPG Moderator, it would be your duty to update all aspects of the RPG that make it a nice and smooth-running system. If accepted, you will be trained in the ways of updating, but for now we need to know that you have the potential for greatness. We will only be taking the best, so put in 110% effort throughout the entire application. Even more if you muster up some additional awesomeness!

Onward now, and start your quest. That is, if you think you can handle it.

RPG Moderator Application

First, things to take into consideration upon applying for a position.

Expectations, Duties, Etc. Wrote:Being an RPG Moderator is no simple task, but if you have the confidence and the desire, it can be an overall fun and rewarding experience.

As an RPG Moderator, you would be expected to help get profiles made for new users, help keep the Global Plaza up to date, and help the players progress in their adventures. It seems like a lot, but after some practice it's a piece of cake! Our weekly expectations per RPG Moderator are 35 updates a week. Being at the size we are now, that's something that can easily be accomplished with 2-3 rounds of updates per week, however that number will eventually grow with the growing number of members we have. It isn't expected that you update everything once per day, even though it would be greatly appreciated, as we don't wish to put too much pressure on our staff members. Of course you can know that any extra work as RPG Moderators will certainly be taken notice of, that we assure you.

Now this stuff kind of goes without saying, but please pay close attention to your current and prospective schedules. We love any assistance we can get, but those who cannot perform due to other obligations for extended periods of time will be given break from the team for their own good. In our eyes, life outside the internet is more important, and as such we don't want to hold anyone down who starts to feel burdened for any reason. In addition, we expect that those who apply will have a high sense of morality and fairness when it comes to the game. Integrity is a huge part of this position, and as a result any "cheating" (for lack of another word) will not be tolerated and will most likely prohibit you from being on the staff team. That being said, this is a serious position to apply for, but one in which you can have loads of fun. Good luck!

Don't take any questions here lightly, they are just as important as the rest of the application.

Application Part I Wrote:Questions of Applicant Information
Answer the following questions with as much information as possible, and with honesty and integrity:

1.) Have you had any previous experiences with RPG moderating in the past? If so, what kinds of things were expected of you, and what do you think you can bring here from those experiences? If not, what do you know about what RPG Moderators will have to do?
2.) How much time out of your daily/weekly schedule would you be able to put towards moderating?
3.) Why do you want to be a member of the RPG Moderating Team?
4.) What do you feel are your strong suits, and what things do you feel you need to improve on? Expand on this a little bit: tell us about yourself and anything you think we should know.
5.) Are there any other specific qualifications that you believe you possess that make you a great RPG Mod?

Be creative, don't try too hard to be funny, and try to show us what creative juices you are made of. If you are somewhat of a comedian and are naturally funny, I say go for it, but otherwise just be your creative self and see what happens.

Application Part II Wrote:Questions of Creativity

Answer three of the following questions to the best of your abilities:
1.) Given 20 ‘destructible’ light bulbs (which break at a certain height), and a building with 100 floors, how do you determine the height at which the light bulbs break?
2.) Entertain us for approximately 30.75 seconds.
3.) If you could be a superhero, what power would you possess and how would you use it to stop an airplane from crashing into the ocean?
4.) How would you get an elephant into a refrigerator?
5.) Name 5 uses of a stapler without staples.

This is your time to shine and show us truly what you are made of.

Application Part III Wrote:The Final Part: You

For the final part of the Pokémon Turquoise TRPG Moderator applications, you will be required to write your own creative work. This work can be about anything, or can be done based off of the sample prompts used below.
If you choose to make your own creative piece, it doesn't necessarily have to be made right now. If you feel you have another piece (whether it be poetry, a song, or something else) that accurately represents your writing abilities, then feel free to just give us that. I ask that you please include a date (or a month or year) that matches up with when you wrote the work.

Please choose one from the following:
1.) Free-form: Your own choice of subject for creative writing, or a piece of writing that you have done previously (with the date).
2.) Sample Prose 1: Write about what you think is one of the most interesting things that has happened to you in your life. Try to be as vivid and creative as possible in describing the event, as well as your thoughts and feelings.
3.) Sample Prose 2: Actively describe an imagined battle, or conflict of some sort. This can be a battle between any two opposing forces, whether they are Pokémon or Jedi and Sith or anything else that is battling in some way.

Whatever it is that you decide to write about, be prepared to make it a little lengthy (That generally means at least 250-300 words. There is no maximum, however). If your writing work is less than that, but in your opinion does an excellent job in showing what you are capable of, then that is completely fine. We don't ask that you accidentally "ruin" a possible masterpiece when it would be perfect without the addition for reaching a word-count length.

All applications must be submitted by PM to the administrative team, Chronicler, Phoenixsong, Negrek, Dragonfire, and Taav. After submitting your application, we hope to have you hear back on the results within about 3-7 days. We'd prefer to get you guys started as soon as possible, but often we will be unable to meet as a group and discuss the nature of the applications except for on weekends.

If you have any questions about the application process, and RPG Moderator's role, and what would be expected out of an RPG Moderator, please contact myself or Phoenixsong via PM and we'll try to provide an answer as soon as possible.

Good luck to all potential applications! We look forward to personally reading and assessing each application, and seeing what you are all capable of.

With high expectations,
